Welcome to Mountway

Located in Somerset’s county town of Taunton. Mountway is one of the leading dance & musical theatre schools, established in 1939. Specialising in Tap, Ballet, Modern, Jazz & Musical Theatre classes. The school also offers students the opportunity to learn from industry professionals in both Classical Ballet & Musical Theatre through our workshop program. We are also a dedicated location for Front & Centre a musical theatre associate program.

At Mountway we nurture the passion of dance & performance through encouragement & positivity. To create a safe space for students to express themselves and explore their imaginations.

The Mountway family starts from the age of 18 months all the way to adult classes and welcomes all abilities, from taking your first steps as a performer to professional.

All of Mountway’s dance staff are fully certified through the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) & BA Hons/PGCE in Dance. As well as having had industry experience,

enabling Mountway to deliver training up to professional level as well as coaching for vocational training and audition preparation to university BA Hons courses.

Students are entered into both RAD & ISTD exams, which gain them GCSE and A level equivalents. Giving the students more opportunities to further their career in the performing arts.

Come and join us for colourful display of dance, musical theatre and singing showing off our schools incredible talent, with over 275 participants from ages 2 years and up.
